A message from 2022 Gala Honorary Co-Chair, Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway
Remembering Our Sisters
At this year’s Galvanizing Gutsy Women Gala, we honored the legacy of two influential women who had an extraordinary impact on our organization and the greater St. Louis Community, Betty Renee Marver and the Honorable Cora Faith Walker.
Betty Renee Marver
Our dear sister Renee conceived of the idea for a brunch to raise money for the Caucus PAC, to increase the amount that could be provided to our endorsed candidates. Renee was the driving force behind the Gala Committee every year.
Renee pushed to have the caucus establish an official Training Institute for women candidates. The NWPC-STL Training Institute, now a non-profit, has established the Renee Marver Scholarship Fund in her honor.
Renee’s legacy lives on through every woman who is gutsy enough to run for office.
Hon. Cora Faith Walker
Honorable Cora Faith Walker dedicated her life’s work to public service, social justice, women’s reproductive rights, and equity in health care access. Cora Faith Walker received the endorsement of the NWPC-STL during her campaign for election to the Missouri House of Representatives in November 2016. She won election and served as a State Representative from 2017-2019.
Most recently she served as the Chief Policy Officer for the St. Louis County Executive. We will all miss her smile, her positive attitude, and her fierce advocacy for women’s issues.
